Dr. Pavlou -- Qualifications In A Nutshell
Dr. Pavlou completed a Ph.D., a doctoral degree, in Clinical Psychology at Loyola University of Chicago. She moved on to a residency at Rush Medical Center, where she trained in psychotherapy and psychological evaluation. Dr.Pavlou joined the staff of Rush Medical Center, and was a member of the faculty of Rush Medical College and the Rush College of Health Sciences for many years. At that institution she taught medical students and physicians, nurses, and residents in psychology. She developed programs and did clinical work with people and families experiencing long term and serious medical illness, and consulted on a national level with a variety of organizations providing similar services. Dr. Pavlou published articles and books for both professionals and patients, and broadened her interest in working with people with extended and unusual stress of many kinds.
Dr. Pavlou has maintained a full time practice of psychotherapy for over twenty years, and has trained extensively in depth psychology. She was Principal in the WorkGroup Consultants, a group providing consultation in the work place. She recently completed certificate training in Psychology and Religion at the Center for Religion and Psychotherapy of Chicago, and was an adjunctive member of the staff there. Dr. Pavlou is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in the State of Illinois, is a member in good standing of the American Psychological Association and the National Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology.
