Payment and Insurance

I try to keep fees in the moderate range, and affordable to people who pay on their own. Many people have insurance that they would like to use. Insurance is very complex these days, and it would be useful if you could understand your coverage. You could contact your insurer, either on line or by phone, and inquire about mental health coverage. Many policies have such coverage. For some policies, there is a provider panel of mental health professionals who are paid under the plan. These providers are considered to be “in network”. Additionally, some policies have a provision to reimburse providers who are “out of network”, although generally at a lower rate. I am currently a provider for

  • Blue Cross and Blue Shield PPO
  • Aetna
  • Medicare

I also find sometimes that I am covered on panels that I am not aware of, usually because these insurers have incorporated providers from one of the lists listed above at some point in the past. So, you could check other insurers to see if my name is on it. I can usually submit insurance claims directly for you, or leave it to you if you prefer.
